FYEF facilitates foster youth enrichment beyond the classroom through our partnerships with organizations throughout the Sacramento region including Broadway Sacramento, Music Circus, Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento Speakers Series, Sacramento Kings, and the Sacramento Republic, Inc. Many of our scholars experience these enrichment opportunities for the first time through FYEF.
FYEF provides emergency assistance funds and coordinates with the Sacramento Assistance League which helps to prevent our students from becoming homelessly by providing funds for payment of utilities, rental assistance, car repairs, care insurance, childcare and more.
FYEF awards higher education grants / scholarships annually to support emancipated foster youth in the Sacramento region. These grants assist with tuition, books, computers, and transportation.
Eligibility is open to those entering or attending accredited institutions, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation. We are unique in that there is no required GPA for scholarship eligibility. Ninety percent of the students we provide scholarships to complete the semester for which the scholarship was received.
