Welcome to the Foster Youth Education Fund (FYEF)

FYEF empowers former foster youth in the Sacramento region to achieve their higher education dreams.

Only 3% of former foster youth graduate with a college degree.

FYEF is committed to changing this statistic.

Since 2002, we have awarded scholarships and essential resources such as laptops, books, housing, and transportation.

By supporting FYEF, you’re helping scholars transition from surviving to thriving. 100% of our scholars are from low-income backgrounds, with over 90% identifying as African American/Black, Hispanic, or LGBTQ+.

Exciting and exhilarating first day installing the Foster Youth Museum at Sac State. The FYM installation team, Sac State’s museum staff, Guardian Scholar team  and other volunteers were simply amazing. The Foster Youth Education Fund thanks you all!

Join us in shaping a future where former foster youth can build successful, independent lives.

“Thank you for believing in us.”

“We currently see that less than three-percent of foster youth go on to earn a college degree. I hope to not only be part of that three-percent, but I want to raise that three percent.”

Thanks to our generous sponsors
